Religion and religious services are an inherent part of cultural heritage. Turkish Canadian Society of Edmonton had been operating a small masjid inside its cultural centre for almost two decades to serve the Turkish Canadian Community in Edmonton. In 2016, community members embarked on an ambitious project to build a brand new mosque next to the our cultural centre. A separate, independent, non-profit organizaton has been established to raise funds, oversee the construction and run the new mosque. Blue Mosque Foundation – Diyanet Edmonton is a registered charity and has started the construction of the new mosque in Spring 2020.
